Adding grey to forehead

Wasn't sure I had enough grey hair on the forehead so added some more in.

As in reference pics his grey hair is behind the brown from the lower forehead...

When it's all dried and finished I can start brushing it to blend it together. It will look less 'strandy' then..

Face glueing of hair part 2..

So I've cut my hair in half, making it 26-30 inches roughly. I then cut this in half so glueing to the face gives me anything between 13 and 15 inches ish.

Ready to rock!

First things first, a nice beading of the sealant around the edge that I'm going to work on. You'll notice I drew lines on the face to copy the original contours/directions of hair seen on screen.

Then start grabbing strands. Approximately 2-3 times more hair than what I was latching with.

I had to add some to the ends of the mesh on the head as I left this bare for glueing.

So I basically went all the way round the beast with about 10mm of adhered hair..once you push the hair strand it flattens out. Whilst holding the whole strand with one hand to stop it moving, you can smooth the adhesive over the end and get a good glued finish!

Face glueing of hair!!

Yeah baby! Finally it has begun!!

My "sticks like shit" glue didn't work at all!! Apparently it's "shit" at sticking to silicone!!

Did an overnight trial of this stuff and looks like it sticks really well :-)

So first off I had to stick down the sides of the mesh around the mask

Magnets are holding it in place whilst it cures :-)

I'm using sticks like shit💩 glue here as it DOES stick to the felt covering the mask at least 👦

It's starting to stick!

So I've given my silicone adhesive/sealant a go. It's both things... Couldn't decide between the two!

First of all I needed a padded spacer to smooth the gap between silicone face and helmet
Made this from foam
Then glued it down

Then once that had started to set.. Glued the mesh down to it. I had left 10-20mm gap around the edges knowing this would end up wing glued. If there's any spare holes I will latch them after..

Also tried a little patch of it on the mask to see if it adheres to it.. Will see tomorrow!!

I bough a fancy sealant - It comes with a shut off valve and different sized nozzles. Gonna e great using the micro one for doing the face fur

Going grey

Latch hooking is making me go grey!! Look at meeeeee!!!!

I think I look rather dashing!!

Hahaha so close to finishing this grey fur now.

Altered the angle towards the edges so that I met the ends parallel to them in the direction of latching. Otherwise my red wool was a guide line of where to change  latch direction

Chewies hair do

So it's about time I started the head fur...

Firstly I had to make a mesh cap and back hood. This fur would be latched on, angled as such to follow the curve of the head.

This was then fitted and trimmed. The back of the hood comes as low as the lowest curve on the jaw.

Ran red Wook through creating curved contour patterns to follow with the hair. These worked brilliantly as I would've latched off in a constant (and wrong) direction!

The fur is starting to make the head come alive!!

Another night of this to go!

Furring the feet

So I've finished he foot socks... I have made mesh socks and have coated them in fur.

These were then attached to the stilts and trimmed around the bottom to reveal the toes. There is some more work needed and hair thinning to complete.

With a little bit of a trim…

And the other one also…

Just waiting for my thinning shears to turn up so I can finish them now!

Update : the shears arrived!! This is how they look now. Feathered the trimming so that there are no sharp cut ends
