Feet progress..

**Edit - ive realised that i've never shown what i cast the toes with!

I used Polycraft's Polytek PT Flex 50 Rubber, and some silicone brown dye. I used way too much stupidly and they went almost black. Oh well, lesson learned!

Attached the toes on a hinge to allow flexibility when walking. All taped up with gaffa.

We made some mesh socks around the stilts that will be the latch hook base for foot fur.

Here's the toe flex

Hand audio trial

Ok so my new membrane switches arrived - had to do a trial run! They are easier I press, soft, flexible and very cheap!

Trialled one in a glove and was able to press it no problem :-)

Much thinner than the original

And here it is

Who wants head??!!!

The head has arrived! Thanks to David Cullen of EvilChimpFX. It's awesome!! Had to re apply some brown silicone to the mouth area as it had rubbed away on the packaging.. But odd but there you go

Before :

And now after a little addition of brown...

I've got a skater helmet on that I'll be using to attach the head to. I'll pad it out so that it sits on my eyes correctly :-)

The jaw... It opens but damn it's stiff!! Need to slacken that off somehow and make the snarl mech. That's gonna be some time away methinks!

More fancy foot work

Chewies chubby toes are finally beig made into a foot! It's about time we stuck em on there.

The feet are starting to take shape now. Even if they are black!

I am leaving these to glue overnight and then tomorrow I will Duct tape everything back together. Once that is done, I will attempt to glue the sandals down and use screws and washers to hold them better. I have some new adhesive called "sticks like shit"! which I am giving a try. Ha ha.

I have made some bases for the feet, or soles out of car mats. As you can see from the pictures the feet are quite big but when finished should look like proper feet!

I will have to use a piece of foam to pad out the shape before I tape it up.

And now I will leave them to glue overnight.

Sexy Bowcaster weathering Part1

Oh yeaahhhhh

This is a result of plastic primer, 3 under layers of silver, 4 top coats of black, then picking scratching and sanding of areas to show old weathered battered well used weaponry...

I've mimicked the on screen bowcaster weathering as best I could. Identical areas of weathering and scratches.

I added the power cables to the sides too.

Bowcaster detailing

This little beauty is coming along!!!

But what part is this that's arrived?!

All will be revealed later!

So the silver base coats are done, blacks are now being finished!

Now she looks like this!

A nice matt black finish

Andddd the moulding is done!

So got some more sexy silicone RTV and made another mould of the other 5 toes! I managed to use the leftovers to make a decent mould of the 2 bandolier boxes too! Bang tidy!!

And here's the bando boxes

They should then out great in some sort of flexible/semi rigid foam that is lightweight :-)

Bow selecta!

So the Bowcaster paint job has begun. Started with plastic primer.

Few coats of that and it's ready for the first colour. Silver!

This will be the undercoat so that when it's weathered and rubbed down/scratched in areas the silver will show through giving the impression of metal :-)

Then a secon light coat and leave to dry for a few hours

This is gradual light work so obviously it's as patchy as my memory on a Sunday morning after a few Kashykk ciders!!
